We are pleased to announce that we are officially releasing Archivematica 1.2.0, along with version 0.4.0 of the Storage Service! Install or view the code today.

We have packed quite a few new features into this Archivematica release, including:
**A SIP arrangement panel that allows users to drag and drop content from one or more transfers into one or more SIPs - sponsored by Simon Fraser University Archives
**Forensic disk image ingest - sponsored by Yale University Libraries
**A directory tree printing micro-service to generate tree diagram - sponsored by Baker Library at Harvard Business School
**Ability to generate OCR files and add them to a DIP – sponsored by Baker Library at Harvard Business School
**Ability to store DIPs to a designated location for future upload to an access system - sponsored by Baker Library at Harvard Business School
**Ability to view AIP storage pointer files from the Archival Storage tab and the Storage Service dashboard
**Ability to configure characterization commands via the Format Policy Registry (FPR)
**Ability to add a verification command micro-service (verify frame-level fixity and lossless compression)
**New configurable validation micro-service using an updated version of Jhove
**Improvements to transfer start speed and scalability
**FITS performance improvements, including the addition ofnailgun
**Inclusion of TIKA and DROID in packages to allow the FPR to be configured to use them as identification tools
**Option to use MediaInfo and Exiftool for characterization and metadata extraction instead of FITS
**Ability to add Dublin Core metadata in JSON format to transfers
**An updated version of FIDO with the most recent PRONOM IDs (version 77 released July 18th, 2014)
**Numerous updates to bundled tools
**Scripts and troubleshooting tools for administrators and developers
**Many bug fixes and enhancements

The updated Storage Service also contains a number of new features, including:
**A fixity-checker application that runs regular fixity checks on stored AIPs – sponsored by the Museum of Modern Art
**A LOCKSS storage option using the “LOCKSS-o-MATIC” PLN Manager – sponsored and co-developed by Simon Fraser University Library
**Ability to configure transfer backlog locations
**Ability to view AIP storage METS pointer files from the Archival Storage tab and the Storage Service
**Many bug fixes and enhancements
